Features & Benefits:

  • Advantage Matrix Buttons provides the fastest and simplest way to make custom impressions for temporary crowns.
  • When making temporary restorations, you can be in and out of the patient's mouth in 30 seconds with Matrix Buttons from Advantage Dental. Simply soften a button in hot water. Then form it around the tooth (or teeth) to be prepped. Blow air to harden. Then remove.
  • Insulate sensitive teeth while operating in another area.
  • An anterior bruxing device to offset clenching and grinding problems.
  • Bite registrations.
  • Implant shims to guide placement.
  • Border molding trays for denture impressions.
  • These products are very fast, easy, accurate and cost-effective. Matrix Buttons have no gag, odor or taste issues. The impression is small, stable and can be saved to make a new temporary, in the rare event of fracture or loss of the original. When hardened, the matrix is flexible enough to be removed without distortion, and rigid enough to contain the material and drive deep margins.
  • When the Matrix Buttons are submerged in hot water- at ˜1600 ;about the temperature of a hot cup of coffee- they will go from opaque white to transparent, and it is then ready! It takes only a few seconds to position it with the fingers, and seconds more to cool it back to white for removal. All this takes less than the time VPS requires to cure!
  • Direction:

  • Recommended Materials: Ethylacrylates, Composites, Light cure materials (methylacrylates may also be used).
  • After anesthesia is administered, remove button from water bath. While using "wet" gloves to avoid sticking, roll button into an oblong ball. Press down on the occlusal surface. (Keep occlusal thin to enable flexing matrix to open later for removal of temp.) Then roll down to gingiva and press into undercuts. Patient may also occlude in soft button. Buccal and lingual walls will need to be recompressed.
  • Note: Do not form occlusal, buccal and lingual sides at the same time.
  • Remove button with cotton pliers clean and dry.
  • After prepping, try on matrix. After seating has been checked, remove and inject bisacryl or hand mix and fill in with spatula; then seat.
  • How to use Matrix Buttons for anterior laminate temporaries:
    • Soften button, adapt over facial and incisal of tooth or teeth to be prepared (for multiple teeth two buttons may be joined.) Cool for 20 seconds or until white.
    • After laminate prep and impression are completed, lightly brush separating medium into matrix. Acid-etch spot on incisal facial, apply bonding liquid to that spot. Then place composite of choice in matrix, seat and lightly cure. Lift off matrix and remove flashing.
  • Hints:

  • If tooth is heavily fractured, reform with rope wax, Vaseline the area and adapt button.
  • Use two buttons for bridges. Place red rope wax in pontic space, apply Vaseline and form matrix.
  • After tooth is prepped and the matrix is filled with temporary material, have the patient bite down to ensure that the temporary is completely seated.

Application:

  • Isolate sensitive teeth while operating in another area.
  • Anterior anti-bruxing device to offset clenching & grinding.
  • Block out of the space for the pontic .
  • Bite registrations.
  • Implant shims to guide placement.
  • Border molding trays for denture impressions.
