CaviCide FAQs

  • Why has it been difficult to get wipes availability?

The global supply of surface disinfectants has been impact by the pandemic. Limitations on ordering has been as a result of raw material and extensive back orders. An alternative to using wipes, is CaviCide, as it is the same solution used to impregnate CaviWipes.

  • What kind of towel should I use with CaviCide?

Do not use pre-soaked cotton wipes. Cotton irreversibly absorbs the quaternary ammonia chloride active ingredient, binding it to the fibers and preventing it from killing the microorganisms on the surface. Paper towels or synthetic towels (polyethylene, polyolefin, polypropylene) are acceptable. Always follow label instructions.

  • I am concerned about the spray aerosols. How do I mitigate this?

CaviCide 24oz has 3 dispensing options with its trigger sprayer - spray, stream, and off. The stream option minimizes aerosolization and is encouraged if you are concerned about aerosols in your facility.

  • Does it matter if I spray on the towel or surface first?

Spray the precleaned surface for the recommended dwell time.

  • Do I need to wipe away or dry the surface after the kill time is reached?

This product can air dry. Ensure you maintain the recommended dwell time on the surface.

  • Can I refill CaviCide bottles?

Yes, CaviCide bottles can be refilled.

  • Should CaviCide be mixed with water?

No, CaviCide is a ready to use disinfectant. No additional solutions should be mixed with the product.

  • Can I use it on a food prep surface or toys? If so, are there any additional steps required?

Yes, you may. Always rinse the surface off with potable water after disinfection is complete.

  • What type of materials/surfaces/equipment can I use it on?

CaviWipes and CaviCide may be used on hard non-porus surfaces.
